Charles Quitman Davis, Jr, at the age of 77, died Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born February 6, 1947, to Charles Quitman, Sr. and Ruth Ann Walters Davis. On February 4, 1970, he married Sandy Davis. They had 54 cherished years of memories and love. During Charles’ working life, he was an established and successful painter, owning and operating Davis Paint Contracting for over 50 years. During his younger years, he enjoyed shooting pool and working in his yard. Throughout his life Charles was an avid records collector, he had over 3,000 in his personal collection; he also enjoyed reading and watching old Western movies. Charles had an appreciation of antique vehicles. Charles, who never met a stranger, would often be telling stories or jokes aimed to make others laugh. He was a member of East Heights Baptist Church.
Charles is survived by his wife, Sandy Davis; and one daughter, Michelle Getz and her husband, Aaron, all of Tupelo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mike Davis; and brother, Jake Davis.
Visitation will be 12 until 2 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Priceville Cemetery with Bro. David Hendrix officiating. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
