Charles Preston Tubb, 85, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.  He was born in Monroe County on August 10, 1937 to the late Preston and Wilma Owens Tubb.  Charles attended Quincy School and graduated from Becker High School.  Soon after he went to work on the Frisco Railroad.  Charles loved his job on the railroad and was proud to have been a Frisco railroader.  He retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as a conductor with 42 years of service.  He married the former Delana Thompson in 1957 and together they raised 4 children.  Charles was a member of Becker Baptist and loved people and found no greater joy than sharing his faith with anyone that would listen.  He also enjoyed being outdoors working in the yard and hunting.

Charles is survived by his daughter, Regina Poe, Hamilton; sons, Richard Tubb (Wanda), Amory, Robert Keith Tubb, Athens Community and Burt Randall Tubb (Michelle), Colorado; sisters, Virginia Gregory (H.W.) of Smithville and Linda Butler (Dexter) of Amory; brother, Doyle Tubb (Joyce) of Charleston; 9 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Preston and Wilma, first wife and mother of his children, Delana, he is preceded in death by a son, Russell Dwayne Tubb; brother, Ellis Tubb; and his second wife, Ruth Tubb.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Cleveland Moffett Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Jason Green officiating.  Burial will follow in Durrett Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be his family and friends.  Honorary pallbearers will be his co workers from the Frisco Railroad.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Tuesday from noon until 1:45 PM.
