Charles Morgan McEniry (76) of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully on October 24, 2024. He was born 8 March 1948 in Sedalia, MO to Charles Burns McEniry and Lydia Ann (Lawson) McEniry. He grew up in Kansas City, MO, attended St Francis Xavier Catholic Grade School, Rockhurst High School, Southwest High School, from which he graduated in May, 1966, and the University of Missouri -Kansas City. He joined the Marine Corps 29 January, 1968 and spent 11 years on active duty. He attended the University of Missouri Rolla, graduating in December 1980 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Dynetics, Inc., Teledyne – Brown Engineering and SAIC all in Huntsville and for Spiral Technologies in Lancaster, Ca. He was in the Marine Corps Reserve for 13 years, retiring in 1992 as a First Sergeant. He is a veteran of Vietnam and Desert Storm.
Mr. McEniry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lydia, his brothers, John T. McEniry and Daniel L. McEniry. He is survived by his daughter, McKenna Cochran and her mother Julie Cochran; his sons, Charles W. McEniry, Michael F. McEniry (Amy), Joseph E. McEniry (Kimberly Shawn) and Christopher A. McEniry (Rachel), two granddaughters, Colleen and Katie, and John’s children and their spouses, Sean (Lela), Kelly (Holly), and Ashley (Tom) and Sean’s and Lela‘s daughter, Sadie.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Hampton Cove Funeral Home in Huntsville. Visitation will be prior to the Service from 10:00 to 11:00am. Please consider wearing happy, cheerful colors as we honor Charles, and celebrate his life. Burial will be in the Holy Family 1 Garden at the Hampton Cove Funeral Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of McKenna Cochran may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis Tennessee.
