Charles Minton Thorp, Sr., 93, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2024. Visitation will be Friday, February 9, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Sonny Owens officiating.
Charles attended New Beginnings Church. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean War, and a member of the ASPLS. Charles was preceded in death by his son, Daryl Thorp; parents, Gwinnie Bullion and Thomas Thorp; sisters, Minnie Taylor, Maud Byers, Mae Dutton, Anna “Tommie” Keithley, and Florence Pace; and brothers, Mack Thorp and Wallace Thorp.
Charles is survived by his children, Charles Thorp, Jr. (Debbie), Marie Steele, Wade Thorp (Rena), and Ali Thorp; grandchildren, Trey Thorp (Jen), Krissy Wann (Todd), Julie Rose (Daniel), Jon Steele, Vicki Steele, Hunter Thorp (Haley), Zac Thorp, and Karley Villarreal (Marco); and great-grandchildren, Charlie Thorp, Olivia Thorp, Kyndall Wann, Christian Wann, Braxton Rose, Brodie Rose, Kaylee Steele, Trey Love, Jadyn Love, Mason Thorp, Jayden Villarreal, and Gabby Villarreal.
