Charles “Lloyd” Carey

Charles “Lloyd” Carey (Little Pokey), passed away from this world July 16, 2024, after a short illness.

He worked in the coal mines for 25 years.  He enjoyed gardening, raising goats and chickens and working in the hayfield with his grandson Dustin.  He loved going to Jacks and talking to everybody.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasantfield Cemetery.  Kevin Stanford will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his Parents-Allen and Alma Carey; 4 brothers-Ray, AC, Melvin and Robert; 4 Sisters-Ada Lee Peters, Mazie Murphee, Alta Mae Bolton and Atha Lee Bolton.

He is survived by his Loving wife of 63 years-Carolyn (Fike) Carey; His sons-Jeff (Angie) and Mike (Christy); Grandson-James Porter (Dana) and Special Grandson-Dustin Carey (Katilyn); Great Grandsons-Joshua and Jaccob Porter; Special Great Grandson-Gunner Carey; Step Great Grandsons-Isaiah and Isaac Willcutt; Sister-Sue Smith; Sister-in-law-Charlene Carey.

Pallbearers will be Don Franklin, Terrell Conner, Greg Odom, Charlie Moore, Steve Franklin and Tommy Bolton.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Damien Hartley.
