Charles Lewis Edwards, age 90, of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully at his residence after a long battle with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, General Wade Edwards and Lorene Jones Edwards; wife, Mary Lenell Edwards; sons, Gerald Germany and David Germany; brother, Junior Edwards; and granddaughter, Laura Edwards.

He is survived by his sons, Mark Edwards (Lorita), Keith Edwards (Janet), Phil Edwards (Daphne), Eric Germany (Lori); Sharon Germany; sisters, Peggy White and Nan Johnson; grandchildren, Savanah Edwards, Riley Edwards, Amy Edwards, Christa Mitchell (Joe), Erin Edwards, Erika Edwards, and Jonathan Edwards (Sarah); and a host of great grandchildren and nephews.

Charles was born in New Market, AL. He was of the Catholic faith. He served our Country in the U.S. Air Force for nine years. He served forty-three years in the Huntsville Police and Slidell, LA Police Departments retiring as a Detective Sargent.

A graveside service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made to Most Merciful Jesus Catholic Parish, 10509 Segers Road, Madison, AL 35756 or to the American Cancer Society.
