Charles Lane Weatherford, 89, a native of Lauderdale County and a resident of Harvest, AL, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Huntsville Hospital. He was a truck driver with Yellow Freight, a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge #375 of Donelson, TN, and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
Visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2012 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brother Randy Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Florence City Cemetery with military funeral honors accorded at graveside.
Mr. Weatherford was preceded in death by his son, Charles Leslie Weatherford; a grandson, Charles Sean Weatherford; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lena Holden Weatherford of Harvest, AL; son, Michael Weatherford (Mary) of Huntsville; daughter, Sylvia Jackson of Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Jean Presley of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Troy, Tracey, Craig, Shannon, Patrick, Kyle, Tommy, and Danny; great grandchildren, Laura, Kathryn, Paul, Summer, Zachary, Erin, Bailey, Lily, Ashton, and Ryland; and a great-great grandchild, Cadence.
Active pallbearers will be family.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn McGee, Archie Johnson, and Paul Pounders.
