Mr. Charles Junior King, age 88, passed away early Friday, March 8, 2024 in Lexington. He was born July 15, 1935 in Chester County to the late Charles Lynn and Thelma Hart King. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and a retired shop foreman at Delavan. He enjoyed gardening, farming, barbequing, and fishing. He was known as “Papaw” to his grandkids and great grandkids and let them do anything they wanted!
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny Burress and Bill King.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Willidean King; his son, Charles Neal King (Linda); three daughters, Stacy Ann McIntyre (Keith), Rita Wardlow (Carlos), and Regina Wood (Randy); his brother, James Dewayne “Wayne” King (Brenda); sister-in-law, Robbie Burress; six grandchildren, Baylee Nicole McIntyre, Dalton Trace McIntyre, Carley Jeanelle Wardlow, Andrew Wood (Liz), Matthew Wood (Savanna), and Michael Wood (Emily); and two great grandchildren, Henry and Alma Wood.
Funeral services are scheduled 3 PM, Sunday, March 10, 2024 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 12 – 3 PM. A private family interment will be on Monday at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Parkers Crossroads.
