Charles James Colburn, 75 of Sumiton, passed away Friday May 17, 24 at his residence.
Mr. Colburn was retired from the Jefferson County Commission, where he worked as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. He attended Sumiton First Baptist Church. He was well known and loved by everyone. If you ever met Charles and asked how he was doing, he would tell you first thing, “I’ve got Jesus”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Flora Birmingham Colburn and his siblings, Helen, Terry and Jerry Colburn.
Survivors include his daughter, Catherine Bryant and husband Richie; grandchildren, Lindsey, Tanner and Jordan Reeves; great grandchildren, Karter and Kamden Pugh, Kyron Manning, Kylie Pugh and Braylon Allred; siblings, Jackie Colburn Harper and Ray, Johnny, Bobby and Roger Colburn; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday May 22, 24 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ted Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Tuesday from 12:30-2 pm.
