Charles Henry Russell, age 85 of Dora, passed from this life to his heavenly home on September 13, 2022. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, August Russell and Susie Cook Russell; his first wife, Dean Mullins Rusell; son Charles “Chuck” Russell, Jr., as well as eight brothers and sisters. Charles is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Minyard Russell; daughter, Pamela R. Bullock (Tim); son, Barry J. Williams (Kim); grandchildren, Charles “Chip” Wayne Bullock, Christopher Bullock, Justin Russell (Bethany), Bambi Russell, Kristen Williams Hunyh (Cody), Ryan Williams (Kara), Alli Toya (Brandon), fourteen great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Charles was employed with Mayer Electric for fifteen years as Director of Purchasing. He was an avid golfer, loved his church and the Open Arms Sunday School Class. Services to honor his life will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022. Visitation will be held at Bethel Baptist Church from 10am-12pm. A graveside service will be held at 2pm in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East, Trussville. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 7000 Bethel Road, Dora, AL 35062. Rev. John Foles and Ken Irvin will officiate. The family wishes to express deep appreciation to pallbearers; Charles “Chip” Bullock, Chris Bullock, Justin Russell, Ryan Williams, Tim Bullock and Barry Williams and honorary pallbearers; Ken Irvin as well as other members of Open Arms Sunday School Class, Jerry Minyard, Gary Rasbury, Tim Plyler and Richard Gilmer.
