Huntsville native, Charles Harris Roberts, left this earth on October 5th to be with the Lord. Charlie, a dedicated husband, father, and family man, was a graduate of Huntsville High School and Auburn University.

One of Charlie’s favorite pastimes was watching the Auburn Tigers with family and friends on Saturday afternoons. He was always ready to entertain with his beautiful voice and guitar playing. He loved the beach and as a young boy learned to surf on Saint Simons, Georgia. As an avid golfer, he was a life-long member of Huntsville Country Club. Charlie retired from the family business, Plant Roberts Chemicals.

Charlie is survived by his wife and best friend, Lynn Taylor Roberts; his daughter, Mary Lynn Roberts Kidd (David); son-in-law, Grant Woodall; sisters, Frances Roberts Brown (Donnie), Ann Roberts DeYonker (Rod), Alice Roberts Johnston (Randy); sister-in-law, Tricia Baralt Roberts; his sisters-in-law, Pat Taylor Yates and Tina Taylor Ferry; brother-in-law, Randy Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by his daughter, Valerie Anne Roberts Woodall; his parents, C.S. “Jack” Roberts, Jr. and Alice Westbrook Roberts; his brother, John “Jack” Westbrook Roberts; his paternal grandparents, C.S. Roberts, Sr. and Frances Roberts; and his maternal grandparents, A.J. Westbrook and Ann Westbrook Harris.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 10 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church 2300 Beasley Ave, NW, Huntsville, at 2:30 followed by the service at 3:00. A graveside service will immediately follow at Maple Hill Cemetery.
