Memorial services for Charles Harrington, age 79 of Jacksonville, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Jacksonville First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until the service time.
Mr. Harrington passed away on September 27, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. Harrington and Margaret Harrington.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Harrington; children, Jay Harrington (Brooklyn), Greg Harrington (Patricia), and Beth Harrington Smith; grandchildren, Hadlei Harrington, Adele Harrington, Kenna Harrington, Will Harrington, Tom Harrington, Stewart Harrington; Wesley Taylor and Lacy Taylor; and 7 great grandchildren.
Mr. Harrington was a graduate of Bessemer High School and attended The University of Alabama. He served in the Army Reserve and was retired from Baptist Health System.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
