Graveside Services for Mr. Charles G. Reynolds, age 81 of Ashland, will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at the Clay County Memory Gardens with Rev. Bruce Willis officiating.
Mr. Reynolds passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Clay County, a graduate of Lineville High School and outstanding football player, performing multiple roles at Quarterback, Defense, and Kickoff and punting teams. He worked for nearly 40 years at Higgins Slacks as the stockroom clerk. Outside of work, Mr. Reynolds enjoyed entertaining and playing with his children and grandchildren. He was always competitive, racing and playing sports with his children and grandkids well up into his 60’s. He also enjoyed playing puzzles, board games, and cards. He coached Little League football at LHS among other teams, and thoroughly enjoyed teaching and coaching. Mr. Reynolds is described as quiet, yet appreciative man, was always very thankful and was the epitome of integrity. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ashland.
Mr. Reynolds is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce P. Reynolds; his daughter, Lorri Reynolds Allen (Bob); two sons: Robert Reynolds (Paula) and Garey Reynolds (Janet), all of Ashland; five grandchildren: Greg Reynolds (Anna), Abbey Alvarez (Charlie), Chelsea Lester (Chris), Payton Reynolds, and Orry Allen; four great-grandchildren: Kate, Charlotte, Murphey, and Witt, and other extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Garland Robinson and Florence Eleanor Carroll Reynolds; one sister, Bernice Ward; and one brother, Billy Royce Reynolds.
Greg Reynolds, Payton Reynolds, Orry Allen, Bob Allen, Charlie Alvarez, and John Harkness will serve as pallbearers.
His visitation will take place on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 1:30PM until service time at 3:00 P.M. Flowers are accepted, however the family would prefer donations be made to the Hospice of Clay County: P.O. Box 1270, Ashland, AL 36251.
