  Obituary of Charles Freeman JordanCharles Freeman Jordan was born on September 25, 1923 and died on November 23, 2023.

He was a native of Corinth, MS, the son of the late Charles C. and Sara Margaret Strickland Jordan both of Corinth, MS. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice Irene Shields Jordan of Corinth and his second wife, Lou Evelyn Henley Jordan; a brother Harry Jordan of Dyersburg; a son, Phillip Wayne Holifield of Bartlett, TN; and two great grandchildren, Drew and Cameron Duck, both of Memphis, TN.

He is survived by a daughter, Robbie Lois Jordan England (Herman) of Jackson, TN and a son, Charles Thomas Jordan (Linda) of Michie, TN. He had six grandchildren, Holly Jordan Feazell of Michie, TN, Debbie England Duck (Mike), Billy and Eric England all of Jackson, TN, Kevin Holifield of Bartlett, TN, and Stacey Holifield Murdock (Joe) of Redbanks, MS. He had eight great grandchildren, Molly Beth Cupples (Dustin) of Jackson, Jordan Vess (Jonathan) of Memphis, Jessica Riley (Andrew) of Madison, TN, Colin England of Jackson, TN, Shelby Jordan, Chapman Feazell and Cooper Feazell all of Corinth, MS and Lillie Holifield of Redbanks, MS. He had six great grandchildren, Cameron and Chandler Cupples, Robbie and Freeman Vess, and Oliver and Mila Riley.

Mr. Jordan graduated from Farmington High School in Corinth, MS and then attended the University of Mississippi. He served in the U.S. Marines in WWII and then served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949-1951. He worked for Moses Auto Parts, Osborn Abston Co., and Consolidated Aluminum from which he retired in 1985. He was a member of the VFW Lodge 1848 and Bemis Methodist Church of Jackson, TN. He coached Madison County Little League for several years. He served his community by delivering “Meals on Wheels” to disabled and senior citizens. Mr. Jordan will be missed by his family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 27, 2023 from 12-1 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Bro. Tim Bass officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Hopewell Methodist Cemetery in Corinth, MS.

His wishes were for memorials be sent to the Hopewell Methodist Cemetery Association in care of Sandra Fulgham at 2001 Highland Drive, Corinth, MS 38834.
