On March 20, 2024, Charles Everett Jackson took his heavenly flight while surrounded by his loving family.
Charles loved to pull pranks and make people laugh and even continued this with the doctors as he was being taken back to surgery.
He and his wife, Karen blessed many families and friends with their generous gifts of time, prayer, food and flowers from their gardens.
One of his greatest contributions to others was the 20 plus years he and Karen volunteered to missions thru Hodges ministry.
He and Karen enjoyed taking long road trips, quick rides down any backroad and picnics on the river. Charles was an avid gardener. He was proud of his prized flower beds and tomatoes.
Charles and Karen were married for 64 years. They were blessed with four daughters, Janie Darby, Leathea Osborn (Tim), Brenda Fitzgerald (John), and Kathy Parriski (Ed); seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Thomas Reid Darby.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 23, 2024, 6-8 PM at Elkins East Chapel. A graveside service will be Sunday, March 24, 2024, 1 PM at Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper, Alabama.
