Funeral service for Charles Eugene Alvis, 56, of Hartselle, will be Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Alvis officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Dancy’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Alvis died on May 4, 2013, at his residence. He was born on March 25, 1957, in Hartselle to the late Alla B. Alvis and Jack Alvis. He was an owner-operator at Midway Auction in Trinity and Elam Creek Auction in Moulton. He was an avid and faithful Alabama football fan. He was a devoted family man. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jack and Leon.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Fay Alvis; two daughters, Alla Alvis Mahony and April Alvis; three step-daughters, Danica Hicks, Lani Collier, and Amanda McKee; four brothers, Carl, Jim, Joe, and Tim; three sisters, Betty Marie Freeman, Margaret Brown, and Carolyn Alvis; one grandson, Alexander Charles Mahony; and three step-grandchildren, Marissa Hicks, Emily McKee, and Eli McKee.
