Charles Edward Odom, 80, of Jasper, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at UAB Palliative Care.
Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, from 12 until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel at 2 p.m., with burial at Walker Memory Gardens. Bryan Tidwell will officiate.
Charles loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He loved serving the Lord and listening to gospel music. He was a coal miner for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and Alabama football.
He was preceded in death by his son, Marc Jantzen Odom; parents, Lawrence and Irene Odom; father and mother-In-law; A.L. & Nancy Weir; brother, Paul Odom, and sister, Martha Cain.
He was survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Betty Ann Odom; children, Lisa Bowen (Scott), Brett Odom (Shay), Brook Meadows (Derek) and Brianna Harris; daughter-In-law, Jamie Odom; brothers; Woody Odom (Sandra) and Glenn Odom (Edith); grandchildren, Ryan Bowen (Stephanie), Lindsay Schlueter (Ryan) , Brittany Grider (Matt), JC Odom, Kaitlen Hanauer (Jim),
Jacob Huff (Kate), Macon Odom, Cole Meadows, Connor Meadows, Gracie Harris, Libby Harris and Anna Odom; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Bowen, JC Odom, Macon Odom, Cole Meadows, Connor Meadows and Kevin Smith.
