Charles Edward Harwell, 85, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. Mr. Harwell was a distinguished U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and the Silver Star. He was a longtime policeman and fireman for the city of Huntsville. He was a member of West Huntsville Church of Christ and Huntsville Park Church of Christ.
Survivors include his daughters, Pat Bourbeau (John) and Donna Whitaker (Ronald); grandchildren, James Taylor, Joshua Harbin, Jacqueline Shell, and Nicole Harbin; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Jamie and Nathan.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Friday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 4 in the chapel with Steve Mercer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
