Charles Walker  It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Charles Edward (Eddie) Walker, age 70, on October 12, 2024, at his home in Smyrna, TN. Eddie was born on March 11, 1954, to William Scott and Margie Wakefield Walker, who preceded him in death. Eddie’s career began in manufacturing, promoted to production management, and later into purchasing. Eddie left the manufacturing industry and became a postal carrier for the United States Post Office in Lavergne, TN, where he retired.

Eddie would say his greatest accomplishment, being the No. 1 University of Tennessee Vols football fan, only giving up season tickets this year. On more than one occasion, you could hear someone say, “if cut, he would bleed orange.” Eddie also had a fascination with fast cars, owning a custom-built 1976 Pontiac Trans Am to his latest purchase a custom-built 2022 Dodge Challenger, and of course, both were UT orange.

Eddie was a free spirit, leaving behind one son, Christopher Edward Winsett, two grandchildren, Wyatt and Gracie, two sisters, Donna (Joey) Kleine, and Kathy (Cliff) Warren, nieces and nephews along with the great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to honor Eddie will be held at a later date in his childhood hometown. Please share a memory you have of Eddie on the website, so these may be shared at the service.
