OI160544094_crabtree001Mr. Charles Edward Crabtree, age 79, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home. He was a native of Rutherford Co.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nora Vincion Crabtree of Woodbury; Children, Cathy (Kevin) Couch of St. Louis, MO, Charles, Jr. (Belinda) Crabtree of Murfreesboro, Norma (Drew) Simpson of Woodbury, & Hollis (Kathy) Crabtree of Bradyville; 6 Grandchildren, Emily (Christopher) Gannon of Lebanon, Katie (Bill) Simpson, Caleb (Alexis) Crabtree of Murfreesboro, Katherine Simpson, Emma, & William “Will” Crabtree; 6 Great Grandchildren, Hannah & Haylee Simpson, Megan & Sarah Crabtree, & Charlie & J.D. Gannon; Sister, Phyllis Glascoe of Tullahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest & Nannie Mae Carr Crabtree; Siblings, Robert, Z.L., & Hollis H. Crabtree, Marie Allison, Mildred Rowlett, & Sarah Glascoe.

Mr. Crabtree was a member of the church of Christ and served in the Army. He retired from G.E. in Murfreesboro after 35 years & worked at Magna Tec for 5 years. Mr. Crabtree loved to farm, but especially loved his chickens.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday, February 2, 2015 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Al Bugg, Jr. & Bro. Ron Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery at 1 PM. Visitation with the family will be from 3 to 8 PM Sunday. February 1, 2015.
