Funeral services for Bro. Charles Edward Burton, age 82, are scheduled for 4 pm Friday, March 14, 2025, in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hare Cemetery. Mr. Burton passed away Tuesday in Jackson. Mr. Burton was born in 1943 in Henderson County to the late Raymond and Gertrude Roberts Burton. He was called to preach over 25 years ago being the minister for Old Jack Creek, Mt. Moriah and Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He was retired from Leroy Somer and was a Master Mason with Juno Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie Burton and Eugene Burton and one sister, Callie Parker. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Carolyn Burton; two sons, Steve Edward Burton (Jacqui) and David O’Neal Burton; one brother, Wilburn Burton; one sister, Joann Lunsford (Dennis); 4 grandchildren, Wesley Yates, Charles Landon Yates, Nathaniel Lee Burton (Brittany), and Noah Andrew Burton; and two great grandchildren, Emery Powers and Za’Brie Davis. The family will receive friends on Thursday 10am -9pm and Friday 10am- 4pm.
