Charles Edward Birdwell, Sr., age 79 of Springfield, passed away December 24, 2022, at NorthCrest Medical Center. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Austin and Bell Funeral Home Thursday at 3pm with Brother Terry Whiteside officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, from 11am- to hour of service at 3pm.
Mr. Birdwell, Sr. was born April 16, 1943, in Robertson County, TN to the late Thomas Worhy and Maggie Julia Norris Birdwell. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Birdwell, Sr. is preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Pepper.
Charles is survived by his son, Charlie “Chad” Edward Birdwell, Jr. of Springfield; daughters, Julia (Ken) Little of White House, Tiffany Lee Long of Springfield, and Charley Nicole (Darran Smith) Birdwell of Cookeville; brother-in-law, John Pepper of Colorado; sister, Jeanette (George) Clark of Springfield; grandchildren, Jonathan Parker, Joshua Parker, Presley (Eric) Hooper, Dalton Long, Maggie Long, Jessie Birdwell, Jadean Birdwell and Cole Birdwell; and great grandchildren, Taylor and Taylynn Hooper, Sadie, Finlee and Wesley Parker, Landon Parker, Katie Jenkins, Scarlett Long and Ava Butler.
