Charles E. Vinson, 84, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024 at his residence.  He was born in Itawamba County, MS to Idus and Aurey Swindle Vinson.  He worked as a truck driver for many years.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 7, 11 a.m. at Red Bay Holy Church of Christ with Bro. Wayne Bridges and Bro. Roger Aldridge officiating.  Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Myrtle Vinson; daughters, Lisa Jackson (Boyd), Patricia “Pattie” Brown (David), Patricia Spencer and Donna Spencer; sons, Johnny Mayhall (Jenny), David Spencer (Barbara) and Scottie Spencer; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Harold Vinson (Jenny), Neal Vinson, Larry Vinson (Kim) and Gary Vinson and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Martha Wigginton and Rebecca “Becky” Parrish; three grandsons, Glenn B. Vinson, Kyle Parrish and Jonathon Thorne; one brother, Jimmy Vinson and one sister, Maggie Pearl Elrod.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Jackson, Dillon Jackson, Ricky Vinson, Jesse Jackson, Trent Mayhall, Steven Gardner and Gabriell Dillard.  Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Mayhall and David Brown.

Visitation will be Monday, May 6, beginning at 6 p.m. until service time Tuesday at Red Bay Holy Church of Christ.
