Charles Douglas Stewart, 85, of Anderson, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 at North Alabama Medical Center. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a taxidermist and a gunsmith.
Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his parents, George & Mary Stewart; wife, Peggy Stewart; brother, Virgil Stewart and brother-in-law, Gene Middlebrooks. He is survived by his sons, Chuck (Maria) Stewart and Barry (Sherry) Stewart; grandchildren, Weston (Magan) Stewart and Dr. Holly Stewart; great-grandchildren, Kade Stewart and Jake Atherton; sister, Mary Middlebrooks; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
A graveside service will be Wednesday, January 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery with military honors. Bill Barlow will be officiating.
