  Charlie Workman Profile PhotoCharles David “Charlie” Workman, 78, resident of Culleoka passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at South Gate Church of Christ with Joe Macer officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday, August 8, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at South Gate Church of Christ. He was born on February 10, 1946 in South Pittsburg, Tennessee to the late Johnny Ray Workman and the late Martha Ellen Mason Workman. Charlie was a retired carpenter with D.F. Chase Construction Company, well known softball player for A.B. Jones and Sons Softball Team and a longtime member of South Gate Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Wanda Fay Hosford Workman of Culleoka; two daughters, Lori Lynne (Chuck) Brown of Mt. Pleasant and Sharon Jeanette (Preston) Warren of Columbia; affectionately known as “Pappy”, his grandchildren include Matt (Kathryn) Brown of Columbia, David (Anna-Leigh) Brown of Summertown, Joseph (Jordan) Warren of Columbia, and Bailey Marie Warren of Columbia; his five great grandchildren that were the light of his life, Campbell Brown, Bennett Brown, Luca Warren, Hudson Brown, and Carter Jo Warren; sister Almeda Potts of Columbia; brother in laws Tommy Martin of Harrogate, Larry Potts of Culleoka, Raymond Owens of Smyrna, Richard (Dorine) Hosford of Florida, Jackie (Elaine) Hosford of Columbia; and sister in laws Barbra (Walter) Jaskiewicz of Florida, Betty Blade of Culleoka, Sue (Roy) Wales of Alabama and Lisa Butts of Nashville; twenty two nieces and nephews; special friends Larry and Sue Gilliam, Dennis and Paulette Gregory, Al and Rosie West, and Nelson and Marie Huey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters Martha Ray Bozeman, Shirley Ruth Martin and Debbie Potts.

Active pallbearers will be Matt Brown, David Brown, Joseph Warren, Tim Bozeman, Clayton Bozeman, Randy Jones, Alex Jones, Bailey Marie Warren, and Jason Wales. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Gregory, Mike Adams, D.F. Chase Construction family, teammates from A.B. Jones and Sons softball teams.
