Charles “Chuck” L. Johnson

Charles “Chuck” L. Johnson, 88, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday. He was born in West Point, TN. Chuck served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict prior to graduating from Auburn University, and was a loyal AU fan. He was a member of First Baptist church since 1956, and was a pharmacist for 50 years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather known as “Papa Chuck”.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Dolores Johnson; children, Kirk Johnson (Lu Jean) and Dee Dee Johnson Westbrook (Todd); grandchildren, Kate Johnson, Taylor Johnson (Megan), Stephen Westbrook, Dr. Chris Johnson, Caroline Johnson (fiancé, Matt Turner) and Erin Westbrook. The family would like to give special recognition to his caregiver, Doris Spraggins.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday August 27 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel with Dr. Travis Collins officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens in Russellville, AL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocket City Rock Steady Boxing (for patients with Parkinson’s disease), 2200 Drake Ave., Huntsville, AL 35805 (www.rocksteadyboxing.org).
