Charles "Charlie" M. Jeter Profile PhotoCharles “Charlie” M. Jeter, a beloved member of the Jackson community, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at his home in Jackson, TN. He was surrounded by the love of his life, his wife Ella Ruth Thornton Jeter.

Charlie was born on September 5, 1938, in Jackson, TN, the son of the late Earl and Ruth Agee Jeter.

In his early years, Charlie attended Jackson High School and excelled in baseball. Following his education, he embarked on a successful career path that began with roles at Piggly Wiggly and S.M. Lawrence. However, Charlie’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish CJC Fabrications in Jackson, TN, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Charlie was known for his selfless nature and genuine character. He was a man who always strove to do the right thing and approached life with humility. His passion for helping others shone through in all aspects of his life.  He was member of the Masonic Lodge as a 32-degree Mason.

Charlie’s commitment to his values extended into his personal relationships as well. Alongside his devoted wife Ella Ruth Thornton Jeter, he shared deep connections with surviving family members including Deborah Sutherland (Niece), Mary Thornton, DeeDee Vaughn, Judi Collins (Ella’s nieces), and Stacey Green and her husband Randy (Ella’s great niece).

In remembrance of Charlie’s life and legacy, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until 2:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors. This will be followed by a Graveside Service at Hollywood Cemetery beginning at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Ron Hale officiating.

The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at wwwstjude.org.

Charlie Jeter will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. His kindness and generosity touched the lives of many around him. May his spirit live on through the memories he created.
