Charles "Chuck" Willard BritnellCharles “Big Chuck” Willard Britnell, Jr., age 68, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, June 03, 2024 at his residence.

Chuck was a beloved son, father, and grandfather.  He loved God and he loved his family more than anything.  He was always a very family centered man, he loved visiting with all of his family and always could be counted on to support his grandchildren’s events, from plays to ballgames.  He became known as the best overall man and “Big Chuck” when he was running for the County Commission Office.  He loved music, even taught himself how to play several instruments, including the bass guitar and the mouth harp.  He was very artistic, loved to draw, to write, and was a big Alabama fan.     His family will cherish the many memories they share with Chuck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Sr. & Mary Sue Britnell; paternal grandparents, Jesse & Alta Britnell; and maternal grandparents, L. H. & Mildred Andrews.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Misty Dawn Hooper (Bobby), Jessica Marie Beasley (TJ), Alisha Sue Britnell, Charles Benjamin Britnell; grandchildren, Bobby Hooper III, Kaylee Hooper; siblings, Alan Dale Britnell (Judy), Sharon Steien (Ottie), Tammie Nix (Curtis); and a host of nieces & nephews.

The memorial service will be at 10:00 Wednesday, June 05, 2024, at Srygley Church of Christ in Tuscumbia.  The burial is at Rock Creek Cemetery.  The honorary pallbearers will be Charles Benjamin Britnell, Bobby Hooper, Jr., Bobby Hooper, III, Luke Britnell, Brent Palmer, Matt Montgomery, Devin Nix, Jamie Copeland, and John Jackson.

Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
