Charles Arthur Roper, 90, of Bridgeport, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at his residence.
Mr. Roper attended Bridgeport First Baptist Church, worked at TVA for 40 years, was the President & Financial Secretary of IBEW Local 721, Past Chairman of TVARS. He was in the Air Force, a member of the TN National Guard, Life time member of TN Jaycees, and an honorary member of TN JC Volunteer Corporation.
Charles is survived by his Son; Charles Art Roper Jr. (Melissa), Daughter; Cindy Noelle Cagle (David),
Grandchildren; Brandon Roper (Dawn), Kaitlyn Mahaffey (Michael), Morgan Lawson (Josh),
Judd Foust (Heather), Jazz Johnson (Brian), Jacy Hawkins (Jeremy), 17 Great Grandchildren, Brother; Jim Roper, Special Friends; Susie Richardson & Lajuana Hardeman.
Charles is preceded in death by his his Wife; Barbara June Roper, Parents; Bertha Shelton & Clyde Hale Roper, Siblings; Clyde Roper, Dena Hamm, Mildred Cole.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 2-8 PM CST. Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 19, 2023 beginning at 1:00 PM in the Rudder Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Greg Steele officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
Pallbearers are Brandon Roper, Rex Roper, Josh Lawson, Michael Mahaffey, David Cagle, and Wayne Quarles.
