Charles Arthur McIntosh, Jr., 82, passed away on December 20, 2023, at NMMC in Pontotoc, MS. Mr. McIntosh, was born on January 24, 1941, in Meridian, MS and graduated from Meridian High School in 1959. He attended undergraduate and law school at the University of Mississippi, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree with an English major and German minor in 1963 and a Juris Doctor Degree in 1966. Mr. McIntosh practiced law in Cleveland and Oxford, MS. Arthur’s interests ranged from classical music, golf, ole miss sports, travel, fishing (especially fly fishing for rainbow trout) to watching Jeopardy and Matlock reruns almost every day after retirement from his law practice. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed volunteering at the Veteran’s Home in Oxford calling bingo and visiting with the residents.
Mr. McIntosh was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Arthur McIntosh, Sr. and Alice Brown McIntosh of Meridian, MS; and his stepson, Daniel Eric Breazeale, of Oxford, MS.
He is survived by his son, Charles Allen McIntosh, daughter, Erin McIntosh, granddaughters, Jacqueline McIntosh and Skye Buchholz, Boulder, CO; his good friend and former spouse, Barbara Daniel McIntosh, Oxford, MS; his stepson, Kevin Breazeale and wife, Dionne Hall Breazeale; his step-granddaughters, Kade Breazeale (Mason McCormick), Alexis and Brynn Breazeale, and great-granddaughter, Delilah McCormich, all of Florence, AL’ and his cousin, Margery H. Patten, Owings, MD. He is also survived by and remembered with much fondness by many loving relatives of his extended family.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Pontotoc Health and Rehab Center for their care of Arthur during his residency.
Mr. McIntosh was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Oxford, MS. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity of choice.
Tutor Memorial Funeral Home, Pontotoc, MS, is assisting with the arrangements. A private celebration of life will be held at a later time.
