Charles (Chuck) Allan  Huffman

Charles Allan Huffman, 66, passed away on May 17, 2022 in Starkville, MS surrounded by loved ones.

Mr. Huffman, known as Chuck, was born on September 16, 1955 in New Orleans, LA. Chuck grew up in Metairie, LA where he met his wife and partner in life, Suzanne. They both graduated from Mississippi State University in 1976 and soon after moved to Houston, TX. He worked for Shell Oil Company throughout his career where he made lifelong friendships.

Chuck was an avid fan of NASCAR and the MSU Bulldogs and enjoyed the freedom of a motorcycle ride on Saturday mornings. Upon retirement, Chuck and Suzanne’s passion for MSU led them back to Starkville. Known as an entertaining storyteller, Chuck often reminisced about RV trips to NASCAR races and unforgettable MSU football victories. He enjoyed hosting crawfish boils for any type of celebration and highlight his Louisiana roots. He was also known for deep frying turkeys Thanksgiving mornings for all of his family and friends to enjoy.

In addition to his wife, Suzanne, Chuck is survived by his two children, Aaron Huffman and Lauren Opperman, and five grandchildren. His grandchildren affectionately called him “Chuck-Guy” and he enjoyed nothing more than being a grandfather. He was predeceased by his parents, Benjamin Huffman and Mary Huffman.

Visitation will start at 9:30am and the funeral service will follow at 10:30am at the Welch Funeral Home, 201 W. Lampkin St., Starkville, MS 39759, on May 24, 2022. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives.

In lieu of flowers, Chuck’s family would be honored with donations to the Dell Children’s Trust in Austin, TX where his youngest grandson receives exceptional medical care.
