Charlene Parrish Jenkins was born September 18, 1937 in Corinth, MS the daughter of the late Charlie Lawson and Lizzie Barnes Parrish.
She was united in marriage to Feble Ray (Feb) Jenkins on November 1, 1952. Mr. Jenkins preceded her in death on July 21, 2009, following 56 years of marriage.
Charlene attended school at Shiloh. One of her first jobs was as a housekeeper for Barlow’s Cabins at Pickwick. Her primary occupation for most of her working life was that of bookkeeper for Jenkins Construction. She was also a co-owner and operator of J & J Campground at Pickwick with her husband Feb. Cross-stitching and quilting were among her favorite activities, along with talking on the phone to all her friends. Charlene was very active in the Selmer Senior Citizens Center and was a faithful member of Selmer First Baptist Church.
Charlene departed this life on November 12, 2023 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 1 Month, 25 Days. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cone and husband Freddie of Bethel Springs, TN; a son, Larry Wayne Jenkins and wife Lisa of Counce, TN; five grandchildren: Hope Gray and husband Jeremy of Bethel Springs, TN, Chuck Jenkins of Corinth, MS, Fallon Savko and husband Jay of Lakeland, TN, Cody Jenkins and wife Ashley of Counce, TN, and Paige (Jenkins) McCann of Counce, TN; fourteen great-grandchildren: Christi Ingle and husband C. J., Triston Gray, Dylan Gray, Ty Hurst and wife McKenzie, Aiden Gray, Browning Gray, Remington Gray, Gracie Gray, Noah Bain, Fisher McCann, Reagan Savko, James Henry Jenkins, Emmy Savko, and Autumn Jenkins; four great-great-grandchildren: Lakely Ingle, Charliegh Ingle, Westlynn Ingle, and Piper Hurst; and a multitude of extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Charlene was preceded in death by a son, Charles Jenkins; a grandchild, Hannah Jenkins; and two brothers, Warren Parrish and Dee Parrish.
