Charlene Harris Rose Cooper, age 101, of Florence, passed away on October 1, 2024. She will be remembered fondly by family and friends. She was born July 12, 1923 at Roses Mill, TN and grew up at Cypress Inn, TN. She was a graduate of Central High School in Florence, AL. Charlene was a member of Mars Hill Church of Christ. She had many happy hours with the seniors of the Florence Senior Center, often referred to as The Club.
Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2024, from 12-1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rickey Collum officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. Cooper; father, Charles H. Rose; mother, Senora Beatrice Rose; sister, Irene Hill Wright; brothers, Arthur Rose and Charles Rose, Jr.; grandsons, Chesley Dennis and Dustin Dennis Quillen (Emma Thi).
She is survived by her sisters, Martha Ann Hill, Josephine Morris, and Katie Rogers (Howard); brother, Boyd Beecher Rose (Blanche); daughters, Janet Quillen Wilkes and Beatrice Jane Cooper; son, Milton Cooper (Regina); great granddaughter, Sky Merrell (Bradley); great-great grandchildren, Hunter and Anna Merrell; and many nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the doctors and nurses who conscientiously cared for her at North Alabama Medical Center and Glenwood Rehab Center.
