Charlene Boatman, age 66, native of Chicago, Ill. and resident of Denham Springs, LA. passed from this life to her Eternal home on Sunday Oct. 4 , 2015 at her residence. Charlene loved reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was of the Pentecostal faith, and was a member of New Life Tabernacle. Charlene was a great mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad where she was the first female Chief Dispatcher. She worked at Norfolk Southern Railroad approximately 25 to 30 years. She is survived by her children, Dora Crabtree and Sheldon Galloway, grandchildren Marie Mutta, Craig Crabtree, Shanna Scruggs and two great-grandchildren, her sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Larry Dowdy, who pastors at New Life Tabernacle in Muscle Shoals, AL. Her life celebration service will be held at New Life Tabernacle, 2004 Ford Rd. Muscle Shoals, AL . at 1:00 P.M., Saturday October 10,2015.
