Charle Robert “Cotton” Burt, 78, of Scottsboro, formerly of Fort Payne, passed away November 12, 2024. Mr. Burt was born in Dekalb County, Alabama on December 23, 1945 to the late John Burt and Lillie Mae Vaughn Burt. He was a brick mason for many years.
Graveside services will be 3:00pm Friday at the Walnut Grove Cemetery with Rev. Michael Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00-2:30pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Burt is survived by his son, Seth Burt (Teresa); grandchildren, Ashley Liles, Paige Liles, Alona Burt, and Allissa Burt; brother, Roger Burt (Sue); sister, Sandra Ledwell (James); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jean Hughes Burt; son, Carlton Ray Liles; daughter, Sheila Barton; brothers, M.H. Burt, J.L. Burt, Ray Burt, and Howard Burt; and sisters, Wydean Smith and Judy Burt, and Edith Burt.
