Charla Elizabeth Lollar Lindsey passed away Friday, January 16, 2015, at her home following an extended illness. She was born on March 20, 1957, in Memphis, TN, to Charlie and Corrine Lollar. She worked as an assistant teacher at Mantachie Elementary School and had worked in Itawamba County Schools for 25 years. She was a graduate of Mantachie High School and Itawamba Junior College.
She was an avid reader and loved crocheting, embroidering, and sewing for her family and friends. She attended Shiloh Methodist Church. She was generous of her time and talents making gifts and cooking for friends, church members, and family. She remembered everyone’s birthdays and anniversaries with a call or a thoughtful gift. She was full of life and fun to be around.
She was a faithful fan at all of her daughter’s athletic events, traveling around the state. She loved her grandson Channing and enjoyed spending time with him and spoiling him as only a grandmother can do.
Services will be at 11 a. m. Monday, January 19, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Castor Buse, the Rev. Ronnie Goodwin, and the Rev. Ron Schwake officiating. Burial will be in Center Star Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Frankie Lindsey of Mantachie; two daughters Carrie Lindsey of Mantachie and Callie Thompson of Belmont; one grandson Channing Thompson; one brother John Lollar (Kathy) of Mantachie; three sisters Caren Prichard (David) of Chipley, FL, Cim Gore (Larry) of Eupora, and Cay Lollar of Mantachie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and two great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Timothy James Lindsey.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Steven Lindsey, Chris Lindsey, Jared Prichard, Tyler Windham, Matt Spradling, and Thomas Spradling.
Honorary pallbearers are Josh Riley, Chris Ramey, Chris Vandevere, Ryan Clark, and Jimmy Ricky Windham.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home.
