LEIGHTON-Update on the arrest of an armed man who wrecked his car on Spangler Road in Leighton on October 7 from the Colbert County Sheriff’s Office:
“**UPDATE ON ARREST SUBJECT**
DOUGLAS ALLEN BROWN, white male, 48 years of age, has been held at the Colbert County Jail since Wednesday night, October 7th in connection with an incident which occurred on County Line Rd. While deputies were in pursuit, Brown wrecked his pickup truck and fled into the woods. He was later apprehended without further incident. Colbert County authorities have formally charged Brown with 1) Attempt to commit murder 2) Shooting firearm into unoccupied automobile 3) Assault 2nd 4) Driving while intoxicated
Douglas Allen Brown is being held on a total bond of $111,000.
