MUSCLE SHOALS – Chad Young will serve as the Grand Marshall of this year’s Shoals Area Labor Council Labor Day Parade next Monday, September 3rd. The parade, which is one of the longest standing celebrations of Labor in the country, will mark its 100th anniversary next year.
“I am honored to lead this important celebration of the working men and women who are the backbone of our District and State,” said Young. “Our country was built on their hard work and our economy relies on it. We owe so much to them and need to celebrate that not just on Labor Day but everyday.”
Young started his career as a journeyman electrician after completing the North Alabama Joint Apprenticeship Program with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union 558. In that role, he worked throughout the District in the construction and maintenance industry. He also works as a realtor with Coldwell Banker Tennessee Valley Realty.
