Chad Dewayne Gaston was born January 8, 1985 in Dallas, TX the son of Jerry Cummings and Evie Gaston. He was raised in Collinwood, TN by his parents the late Mary and Joel Burleson. Chad had the biggest heart and was a true friend to many. His children were his whole world and his greatest accomplishments. He loved to hunt and could always be found cheering his #16 on at all her softball games. Chad worked for many years for the Wayne County Highway Department as a backhoe operator. Chad departed this life on August 20, 2023 in Lawrenceburg, TN at the age of 38 years, 7 months, and 12 days.

Chad departed this life on August 20, 2023 in Lawrenceburg, TN at the age of 38 years, 7 months, and 12 days.He is survived by his birth parents, Evie Gaston and Jerry Cummings; a daughter, Brinlee Pearl Gaston of Collinwood, TN; a son, Jaxx Grahm Gaston of Waynesboro, TN; sister, Kellie Brewer (Nathaniel) of Iron City, TN; grandmother, Faye Caperton of Savannah, TN; half-brother, Joey Cafarelli of TX; and several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by grandparents, Mary and Joel Burleson; grandfather, Jake Cummings; half-brother, Charlie Cafarelli; and half-sister, Crystal Gaston.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN, with Ben Hanback officiating. Burial will follow in the McCall Cemetery in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
