Chad Christopher MarshallChad Christopher Marshall, 19, of Madison, AL, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Chad was born in York, Maine on October 5, 2004. He was a beautiful healthy baby.

Chad loved to line up his matchbox cars all over the floor. He loved lining up cans, and just about anything that crossed his path. When he was little he loved SpongeBob SquarePants. He never turned down bananas or peanut butter. Chad never spoke a word. He was nonverbal autistic, but he learned to talk to his family using his iPad. During his speech therapy at Seattle Children’s Hospital he was introduced to the iPad program and was a pro at using his iPad. He did very well during his school career in special education. His teachers always commented on how sweet and well behaved he was. Because of the pandemic, Chad had to take his 12th grade classes online. At first he had a short attention span, but eventually he settled in and excelled.

Chad was extremely intelligent, he just couldn’t talk. Lately he was becoming very proficient at writing whole sentences to talk to us. He was extremely helpful with any chore he was asked to do. He had his routine and we stuck to it. He loved Chik-fil-a and pancakes. His smile and laugh were contagious. We had just moved here from Seattle. He had adjusted to the move just fine. When we put him to bed that night everything was normal. We had no warning that 4 hours later he would be awoken by distress in his chest, and would collapse and leave our arms forever. He left us on May 15, 2024 at 2:59 on a Wednesday morning. Chad was a bone and tissue donor. He also donated his eyes and corneas.

He was a gentle loving soul. He was always helpful, always giving hugs. He is survived by his family, Mom Jodi. Dad Paul and big sister Katie, a great aunt and uncle Mike and Jill, and numerous loving cousins.

We miss you son. Our hearts are broken. You have left a hole in our lives. Rest in peace our sweet angel.

No services are planned at this time. Berryhill Funeral Home assisted the family.
