Celester Madrue Hughes Yarber, 91, died Friday, November 2, at Southern Magnolia Estates, Golden, Ms. She was born January 7, 1921 to Bro. Joe W. Hughes and Celester Lowery Hughes.
She, along with her late husband, Raymond Yarber, owned and operated Yarbers Department Store in Belmont for over 35 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Belmont where she served in many areas including teaching and pianist.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 4, at First Baptist Church, Belmont, Ms. with Bro. Jack Maroon and Bro. Ray Burks officiating. Burial will be in Belmont City Cemetery, Belmont, Ms. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn McAnally (Jerry) of Belmont and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Yarber in 2001, her parents and an infant sister, Jolene Hughes.
Pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church – Steve McAnally, Mark Maroon, Terrell Pearson, Mark Henry, Phil Byram and Edwin Bolding. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Don Ratliff, Clyne Pounders, Layne Harris, Pat Reed Jr., Mike Moore, Andy Moore, Kirk Moore, Boyd Lee Tidwell and Buddy Wiltshire.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday, November 3, at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Ms. and she will lie in state 12-2 p.m. Sunday, November 4, at First Baptist Church, Belmont, Ms.
