Funeral service for Cecil Tate Scott, age 71, of Fayetteville, TN will be conducted at 1 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Old Orchard Cemetery.
Cecil was born on September 8, 1947 in Marshall County, TN to the late James Fowler and Martha Simpson Scott. Mr. Scott served during Vietnam in the U.S. Army, and he earned his bachelors degree in Business from Middle TN State University. Cecil was co-owner of C & S Plastics until 2013, when he retired. After retirement, he enjoyed watching U.T. Football, NASCAR, and spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Scott passed away on November 28, 2018 at his residence.
Survivors include his son, Jimmy (Louise) Scott of Franklin, TN; daughter, Amy Scott (Timothy) Clem of Ardmore, TN; grandchildren, Nora Scott, Amelia Scott, Logan (Olivia) Clem, Maggie Clem, Adam (Kelly) Clem, and Samantha Clem; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray Scott, and Larry (Nancy) Scott; sister, Kathy (Mike) Sorrells, and Barbara (Bill) Kreykembohm; and caregiver, Neal Scott.
Visitation with the family will be from 5 PM – 8 PM on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O. Box 98018, Washington, DC 20090-8018. The family of Mr. Scott would also appreciate you donating blood at your local blood drive, in memory of Cecil.
