Cecil Louis Maclin – Obituary

Mr. Cecil Louis Maclin, of Muscle Shoals, died November 13, 2014. He celebrated his 100th birthday earlier in the year on January 29. His childhood was spent in Mississippi and Tennessee, but he and his wife, Juanita Houser Maclin, moved to Muscle Shoals with TVA in 1940. He was longtime member and deacon of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Juanita; parents, John G. and Mamie Maclin; sons, Terry Maclin, and infant, John L.; siblings, Bill, Roy, Irma, and Vida; and his son-in-law, Bobby Joe Thornton.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Maclin Thornton, of Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Cindy Thornton Wood, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Robin Thornton Collins and husband, Phil, of Birmingham, Alabama, Angela Thornton Crowe and husband, Wade, of West Orange, New Jersey, and Morgan Maclin Nagle and husband, Sean, of Richmond, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Cecilia Thornton Crowe, and William Howard Crowe (Liam), both of West Orange, New Jersey.
A graveside service will be held at Colbert Memorial Gardens on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 11:30 a.m.
