Cecil Guy Parker – Obituary

Funeral for Cecil Guy Parker, 75, of Trinity will be Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with Bro. R.C. Borden and Bro. Nelson Tucker officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Cedar Tree Cemetery in Hackleburg. The body will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Parker, who died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at NHC Healthcare, Moulton, was born February 5, 1938, in Lawrence County to L.U. and Mittie Jean Parker. He was an International Paper retiree and a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Scottie Parker.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Mae Parker; one son, Jeffery Lynn Parker; one daughter, Kathy Parker Alexander; two stepsons, Ricky Lee Cochran and Johnny Ray Cochran; one stepdaughter, Mary Nell Gillespie; three brothers, Elliott Parker, James Parker and Roger Halbrooks; eight sisters, Rhonda Breland, Corrine Mitchelle, Ruth Tucker, Linda Brackin, Gail Patterson, Jerrie Nell Terry, Doris Terry and Faye Luallen; one granddaughter, Sonya Lynn Parker; two stepgrandchildren, Jessica Gillespie and Maggie Hanna; and four great-grandchildren, Calvin Powers, Summer and Jackson Shupe and Addie Hanna.

Pallbearers will be Elliott Parker, Jimmy Cottingham, Scotty Wayne Brackin, Mike Gallant, Danny Galloway and Roger Halbrooks.

Honorary pallbearer will be James Parker.
