Cecil Floyd Haynes, age 78 of Moore County passed away March 11, 2021 at The Waters of Winchester. He was born July 9, 1942 in Cowan to the late Willie B. Haynes and Priscilla Ann Saylor Haynes. He retired from AEDC after 21 years as an operational engineer. Cecil enjoyed reading, gardening, yard work and watching sports on television, especially the Chicago Bulls basketball. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Phillips. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Haynes of Moore County; daughter, Michelle (Randall) Moorehead of Moore County; grandson, Toby Moorehead of Franklin County; and several cousins. Visitation will be 12-2 pm Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm at Mt. Garner Cemetery.
