Cecil Doyce Williams – Obituary

Cecil Doyce Williams, 87, of Huntsville, peacefully passed away Saturday at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was a native of Cleburne County, Alabama, and graduated from Heflin High School. He received a BS degree from Jacksonville State University, where he was a member of the first ROTC. He also received a MS degree from Peabody University. He was a World War II and Korean War Veteran, and retired from the Army National Guard at the rank of Captain. Mr. Williams was Principal of Sylvania High School in the late 1950s and then went with State Farm Insurance until his retirement in 1995.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Davie Ann Thomas Williams; son, Terry D. Williams (Nancy) of Montgomery; daughter, Rhonda Williams Lustig (Don) of Madison; step-daughter Kelli Dee Jernigan (Steve) of Power Springs GA; sisters, Eunice Thompson of Loganville, GA and Barbara Irwin of Canton, GA; brother Billy Ray Williams, of Roxboro, NC; grandchildren, Taylor Williams, Katherine Shaw, Collier Williams, John Lustig, and Michael Lustig; step grandchildren, Maranda Andrews (Mat), Andrew Jernigan (Sara), and Derrick Jernigan (Bethany); and four step great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. (www.laughlinservice.com)
