Funeral services for Mrs. Cathy Brown Gunter age 79 of Munford will be held Thursday, April 28, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. EST at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville. Rev. Claude Bennett will officiate and burial will follow at New Harmony Christian Church.
Mrs. Gunter was born in Clay County and lived in this area most of her life. She ran a dry cleaning business for many years before she retired. She loved to travel and enjoyed camping and fishing and spending time with her family. She also loved to cook and care for her flowers.
She is survived by his husband of 38 years, Carroll Gunter of Munford; son, Leon Rogers(Sheila) of Lineville; step-daughters, Debbie Gunter of Lexington, SC and Dawn Jolly(Chris) of Blythewood, SC; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several other extended family members and friends.
She was preceded by her parents Lavelle and Audrey Brown; two sons, Keith Rogers and Earnest Lee Rogers; two brothers, Raymond Brown and Frank Brown and one nephew, Jamie Brown.
Pallbearers are Ted Mitchell, David Brown, Steven Rogers, Ryan Rogers, Adam Staggs, James Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are Kaley Rogers and Christian Walker.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 12:00 until 2:00 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
