Catherine Louise High Stegall, a kind and compassionate soul, left us all too soon on July 27, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born in Memphis, Tennessee on April 24, 1979, she touched the lives of many during her time on this earth.
Catherine’s journey was one of love, dedication, and selflessness. She was a recent graduate of the University of Mississippi and spent most of her adult life as a support therapist at Pathways Therapy Center. Throughout her career, Catherine’s genuine desire to help others shone through, and her impact on the lives of those she assisted will be remembered forever.
Beyond her professional life, the time she spent with her beloved son, Charles Allen Stegall “Cas”, was precious to her, and the bond they shared was one the unbreakable love. She found solace in the art of crocheting, and enjoyed it as one of her hobbies. Catherine cherished simple joys that brought her happiness.
Catherine’s life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity. She embraced a quiet and peaceful existence, finding fulfillment in the small moments that brought joy to her heart. Her gentle spirit and caring nature endeared her to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved son, Cas, who meant the world to her, and her adoring family. Catherine’s mother, Beverly High, her father Henry High, and her stepmother, Lynn High, were a constant source of love and support throughout her life. She also leaves behind her sisters, Leslie Wood and Jennifer Dickerson, who shared a deep bond with her, as well as her nieces and nephews, Grayson Wood, Kaylee Wood, Owen Dickerson, and Lex Davison.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Catherine’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2023, at All Saints Episcopal Church in Tupelo, Mississippi, where friends and family can gather to share cherished memories and bid farewell to this remarkable woman. The family asked that everyone wear blue or green to honor her joyful spirit.
While Catherine’s departure leaves a void in our hearts, we find comfort in knowing that her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory forever inspire us to follow in her footsteps of spreading love and joy to others.
Rest in peace, dear Catherine. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
