Catherine Hogan Terry, 87, of Huntsville, died September 23 after a long illness. She was a native of Widnes, Lancashire, England and had resided in Huntsville since 1974. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, R.V. “Bob” Terry.
She graduated from Widnes Commercial College and travelled globally and throughout the US with her husband, Bob, and sons, Rob and Tim. She met Bob while she was working as a secretary with the Royal Air Force during his service with the US Air Force.
She was employed at Pete’s Soccer Shop for 17 years until her retirement. Her hobbies included collecting antiques, watching and reading mysteries, and enjoying her favorite English treats.
Catherine is survived by her sons, Robert (Susan) and Timothy (Kathleen), both of Huntsville; granddaughters, Brenna Terry of Homewood, Laura Terry of Huntsville, and Mary Kate Hulebak (Gunnar) of Birmingham; grandson, Matthew Terry of New York City; and great-granddaughter, Harper Hulebak.
Visitation will be from 10 to 10:30 Friday, September 29 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. The funeral will follow at the church with Fr. Tim Pfander officiating. Burial will follow at noon Friday at Maple Hill Cemetery.
