Cassandra Jean Gardner-DeHart Cassandra Jean Gardner-DeHart of Booneville, Mississippi

December 4, 1959 – May 27, 2022

Cassandra, affectionally known as Sandy and Shanya, was born on December 4, 1959 to the late Sallie Lucille Gardner and the late Willie Lee Garner. In the early morning of May 27, 2022, God sent his angels to escort her home. She is now resting peacefully in her Father’s loving arms.

Cassandra gave her life to Christ at an early age, and she continued to be faithful servant to the Lord until her death.

Cassandra began her early education at Wick Anderson School and completed her secondary education in the Booneville School District. She proudly served in the BHS band color guard as a co-captain and graduated with honors from Booneville High School in 1977.  She later continued her education at Northeast MS Community College where she earned an Associate Degree in Psychology.

Throughout her work career, Cassandra successfully served in many administrative positions.  However, she devoted the last 24 years at Long’s Wholesale Distributors, Inc. in data processing where she continuously contributed to the success of the supply chain distribution. Every day she demonstrated excellence in her love for people; her desire to perform well and to do good in the world!

Cassandra was a wonderful mother and grandmother, a beloved sibling, a loving aunt, a caring cousin and a great friend! Her memories will be deeply cherished by all those who love her, including: her son, Jeremy DeHart and her daughter, Jasmyne DeHart (Devan); her two grandsons who she adored, Dakota and Jakoden; her brother, Victor (aka Diboy) Gardner and sister Carmella (aka Meya) Gardner Farr; her 1st cousin who was regarded as a sister, Darlene Gardner Westbrook; her niece Rhonda, nephew Broderick and niece Darby; and a host of other cherished family and friends.

Cassandra was preceeded in death by her beloved mother Sallie Lucille Gardner and father, Willie Le Garner; her beloved sister Suzette Gardner Harris; a nephew, Victor, Jr.; her grandparents, C.B. and Lugene Gardner; and a host of other Gardner relatives who were all waiting to greet her.

Cassandra loved God, her family and friends and will forever be in our hearts.
